We want to commend the bravery and dedication shown by two of our drivers during the recent wildfire emergency in the Town of Jasper. Bill Leboeuf, our transit supervisor, and Oleksii Niukhnia, our newest team member, quickly sprang into action following an evacuation notice. Both of them drove busloads of evacuees from Jasper to Valemont, a journey that took over 5.3 hours.

After reaching Valemont, they enjoyed some downtime (insert sarcasm here), trying to sleep in the buses. Their next assignment involved transporting more evacuees from Valemont to Calgary via Kamloops. Throughout the entire process, they prioritized rest and carefully monitored their fatigue levels to ensure safety.

They successfully completed the journey to Calgary, where they finally received a few well-deserved days of rest. Their commitment to the safety and well-being of the passengers and their tireless efforts during this challenging time are truly commendable.
